TidBITS

Ronald Reagan said, "When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat." I am pretty sure he was speaking of law and policies. Perhaps. It really applies to us poor Heartland people. Apparently, we are getting roasted to death by Mother Nature. Poor me. It suffices to say that 75 is my optimal temperature and the scorching summer is not agreeing with me very well.

So this means it is a good idea to jump in the lake or stay inside. Pick your poison.

It might surprise you this is a short post today. More to follow including the latest and greatest in law enforcement news, trends, and politics.

Whichever way the wind blows for you, please enjoy these articles on Law Enforcement Today by moi!

9 Unconventional Things About Police Leaders You Can't Learn From Books

Line Up You Lionhearted

Lastly, we shall not forget a courageous and self-less first responder. The Thai children and their coach were all rescued. May Petty Officer Saman Gunan rest in peace. What a hero he is to the world. His sacrifice saved all. Very sad indeed.

---We can take SOME comfort (not much) in knowing that the heat we're feeling NOW is nothing like what Hoosiers experienced back in the mid-late 1930s!
Check the record books...CENTURY-MARK summer temps (for a few years running)...the word "dustbowl" comes to mind.
Funny, how they didn't HAVE global warming back THEN.
--- I always find your columns in LET very informative (and in some cases, eye-opening). I am looking forward to reading your latest on those "9 things". Should be interesting.
---That Thai rescue effort was nothing less than spectacular, and yes, condolences to all concerned regarding the (Thai) SEAL that lost his life in that rescue.

Roll safe down there, Kiddo.

Hey Momma Fargo;

Glad to see you posting, yep it is very hot, the bad thing is all the afternoon thunderstorms, interferes with the motorcycle rides to work. I am enjoying the various liberal meltdowns over the supreme court nominee.

Bob G, thanks for reading my articles. The heat is horrible mixed with the humidity. You know me. Bring on fall! LOL

WSF, not unusual. I used to have summers in WY in the 100s quite often. It has only cooled off in the last 10 years. 95 is nothing. LOL. Remember, it is a dry heat. What is weird is the tornado effects, hail, and downpours. Yuck.

MR. G.
It is good to be back. Took a long vacay from blogging. Be prepared. I shake my head at some things going on. Brace yourself. I might have an opinion. LMAO
